We can see the future now!!!

Above: Some of the pictures that show the proposed Life Link building
It is seven years ago since we started Life Link Medical Centre in Lungujja, we are very happy that several lives have been saved through the services we provide. We can admit that it was faith and hope that kept us moving plus the testimonies of the people who would have died if we had not given them free treatment and medication. Apart from that, it has been a big burden to the pastor and his family financially. The good news is that on the 22nd of November, a big fundraising for the construction of this hospital was carried out in order to raise the 500 million Ugandan shillings needed to facilitate this work minus the land payment, the work is supposed to start in January 2010, we greatly request for your prayers as we head towards this step of faith, we know the devil is not happy but we have to go on, pray with us so that we can save more lives.
Our ministry seeks to provide a better life in terms of physical health with in our community, therefore the establishment of this medical facility is the evident truth that we are determined to cause a change with in our community and to extend the Love of Jesus Christ in a more dynamic and practical way.
Life Link Medical Centre is a 24 hour medical facility that offers general treatment and dispensary, maternity services, immunisation, surgeries, dental services, medical consultation, etc. It is equiped with modern equipments, has a full time staff of professional doctors, nurses and aids, this has improved the medical standards of the community of Bulenga.
For over four years, the centre has provided services at an unbelievably low charge but most of the people can not even afford treatment at this low charge, this is due to the poverty rate that is high in Uganda. The centre was recognized by the ministry of health and permitted to immunise children officially.
Background
Life Link Medical Centre started in the year of our Lord 2002 in a place called Lungujja when the church hosted a medical mission team from Tucson-Arizona with the help of Dr.Carl Conely. In Uganda, 350 people die daily because of malaria which is more than what AIDS or any other disease kills.
Challenges
- Meeting rent for the premises
- Paying utility bills
- Buying medicine and laboratory reagents
- Paying staff salaries
- Raising funds to conduct community health sensitization campaigns
Most of the needed medicine are locally available in pharmacies if we can afford to buy them. The patients are not to blame because 75% of Ugandans are unemployed, 80% below the poverty line meaning they are poor and they have no access to money.
Dr Eddy Crabtree and a team from the Valleyword ministries visit the centre
The people of Bulenga with the help of the team from Valleyword received medical treatment from doctors who were part of the team at the Life link medical centre.
Several people turned up for treatment at the Life Link Medical centre young, old and children. Many have given testimonies of the treatment they received from the team which indeed extended Gods' love. Eye treatment and check ups were done free of charge and eye glasses given to the patients. A baby during this time was born at the medical centre with the help of a team of doctors from Valleyword and Life Link Medical Centre,it is amazing to see how God through his people can extend his love. The team led by Dr Eddy Crabtree left a land mark in many hearts of the people that were treated at the centre. The hard work and dedication by the team clearly expressed Gods' love. The work is still going on thanks to the partners that are making it possible for these medical services to reach even the least reached. |
