FEEDING PROGRAM

Feeding the Orphans in our communities

The children in Ugandan schools are not provided with lunch except those who are able to pay for the lunch. It is very common to see some kids eating while others watching or hanging around those eating to get their attention so that they can share the lunch. Can you imagine a 12 year old kid leaving home at 7:00 am in the morning and going back home at 6:00pm on an empty stomach?
For more than two years our ministry feeds over 800 children in Bulenga and other places. Every day, a meal is prepared at King Solomon's Academy to feed 400 children who are students of the academy and others who are not even students with us but they need to eat so as to survive. We also supply food to other orphanages, schools and communities that can not afford a meal in a day.
We greatly appreciate Feed the Hungry, an organisation that has stood with us to make sure that 800 children in Bulenga and around can receive lunch and study on a satisfied stomarch every day. For more than 2 years the input of Feed the Hungry has enabled the performances of our students to unbelievably increase, the students' health has improved due to a great meal they receive every day, God bless Feed the Hungry and all the volunteers that have helped out.

Challenges

This program also faces a number of challenges like.
- Raising the salary for the cooks.
- Buying requirements to use for cooking like firewood or coal.
- High water utility bills due to regular use of water at the Academy for washing hands before meals plus washing the plates and cooking pans.
However it is a joy seeing every kid getting a meal everyday. Surely, what are 800 kids compared to the 2 million orphans out there in Uganda.

Appreciations

We greatly and continually appreciate the input and effort of Feed the Hungry and its volunteers who have restlessly ensured that we can recieve food in the right time so that this program is a success, may the Almighty God reward you tremendously. We also appreciate the input of individuals like Stephan Rodelick and many others who have continually supported us even at the least expected moments, may the Almighty God reward you as well.
