Day 3: More food donated to people in Wakiso District

On 31st of March 2020, the President of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni imposed a lockdown as a necessary set of measures to deal with the COVID-19 disease pandemic. Since then, daily life of people came to a halt because movements were restricted, public gatherings were suspended with exception of a few essential workers.

With a population of more than 40 million people , only a small minority are formally employed and the rest earn a living through day-to-day earnings. The lockdown that was imposed left so many people with a few alternative livelihood options, yet the government promised to offer a little relief through distributing food to those whose daily earning was interrupted. However, two months now, so many people haven’t received anything to eat and those who received are already complaining about the quality of the food that was given.
